We are P3-P7 pupils who want to enhance the nurturing ethos within our school.
We will be meeting throughout the year to work towards our team goals.
Meeting 1 – 17th September 2025
Getting to know each other and learning to collaborate.
We introduced ourselves to everyone in our team and then we were put into groups to see who could build the tallest tower in 5 minutes using only paper and tape. To succeed we had to share our ideas, listen to each other and take turns.

Well done to all the groups who demonstrated excellent collaboration skills!
We then discussed what we want to do to improve our school.

- To create a calm area in the playground
- To improve the calm areas in classrooms
Meeting 2 – 29th October 2025
Today we worked in groups to think about how we could improve the calm areas in our classrooms. Each classroom has a feelings check in board and we discussed the strategies that can be useful in helping us to regulate our emotions. We came up with the idea of ‘toolboxes’ for each classroom calm corner. We discussed the ‘tools’ that would be useful and our next step is to create toolboxes for each calm corner.
