Primary Five

Welcome to our Primary Five page, a place where we will share our learning and time together in class.

In term one we spent one lesson a week outdoors exploring our outdoor area. We created bug hotels, made natural ornaments, identified trees and measured their heart and made art inspired by Andy Goldsworthy.

In our first trip of the year we headed into town to visit the City Art Centre. We enjoyed the full day here exploring the gallery and taking part in two art workshops creating collages and Christmas cards.

St Andrews Day. We enjoyed a themed day to celebrated St Andrews day. We did crafts, food tasting and enjoyed a Ceilidh for all second level classes in the hall.

Primary 5 and Primary 2 have been working hard on our joint science investigations with P5 taking on the role of Science Lab Leaders. Primary 5 worked in small groups to teach science concepts around the joint theme of water. We investigated artic animals with our blubber glove experiment, free frozen animals using a range of solutions and looked at which items would float or sink.

As the finale of to our Enterprise pizza parlour project we took a trip to Pizza Express to learn how to make a pizza in a real kitchen.
