Dear Sighthill Families,
Well we are in our final week of what can only be described as a challenging and ever changing end of session. I hope you agree with me that we have all been on a massive learning journey emotionally, physically and mentally. We have tried our upmost to continue to support our pupils and families throughout this session and providing our pupils with life skills that they will use throughout their lives. Please see below my final updates:

Saying our Farewells
As you will have noticed above a particular teachers name is not on our class teacher list for next session. Mrs Gray has been a teacher in Sighthill Primary School for over 22 years. Many of you will remember Mrs Gray as your own teacher when you were younger and attending Sighthill, therefore will appreciate the dedication, care and support she has provided to so many of our pupils and families over the years. She is an extremely passionate and dedicated teacher who always endeavoured to ensure that any pupils she taught were achieving the best they could. I hope you join me in wishing her all the best in her retirement and that she will be hugely missed here at Sighthill. Due to the current situation we are unable to give Mrs Gray the true Sighthill farewell send off we would of liked but will seek to do this once it is safe to do so.
We would also like to say a farewell to Mr Riches and wish him all the best in his future teaching career.
If you have any farewell messages or wish for your child to share a farewell message for either Mrs Gray or Mr Riches please feel free to email your message or send a photo with your message to our email account Admin@sighthill.edin.sch.uk.
Please join me in wishing them both the best of luck in their future endeavours!
Next Session
In preparation for next session there has been a survey sent out to our families to help support our planning for schools reopening. We would really appreciate you taking the time to complete them by clicking on the links below:

We are also in the process of organising our pupil ‘Bubble Groups’ that determine what pattern of days your child(ren) will be attending school for their in-school learning days. This information will be sent out to you via email on Wednesday 24th June along with some parent guidance to support your child’s return to school. A text will also be sent out to make sure you have received this information as it is extremely important that you adhere to the dates and times your child(ren) have been given, along with the guidance you and your child(ren) need to follow upon returning to school. Further information and any changes will be emailed out to you prior to returning to school to keep you as informed and up to date as possible.
Final Thank You!
I would like to take this opportunity to say how proud I am to be the headteacher of a school community that I feel has really come together to support all our families during these times. I would like to give a huge Thank You to the staff of Sighthill who have all been working really hard to make sure home learning opportunities are in place, carrying out wellbeing check-in calls, to delivering home learning packs and food to our families. I would also like to give a huge Thank You to Michelle Robson and the parents who have been supporting our families and the community with lunches and food parcels at the Community Flat as well as Alan from About Youth, Whale Arts, With Kids and the Bethany Trust. Along with Yvonne Stoddart (PTA Chair) who was able to secure Choices for Change Funding to allow us to purchase new ipads to support some of our pupils. I’m sure all our families will join me in saying Thank You for your time, support and dedication in making sure they have what they’ve needed during these challenging times. Most of all I would like to Thank all our parent/carer(s) who have been supporting their child(ren) during this time, from the lovely messages I have been receiving to the fabulous photos of your child(ren) enjoying varying activities, I truly Thank You!
I hope you all have a fabulous summer holiday and I can’t wait to be able to see you all ‘face to face’ in the new session!
Take Care!
