Dear Sighthill Families,
I hope you have all enjoyed your weekend and are ready for another week! Here is this weeks updates:
First Minister Update
As you will have heard from Nicola Sturgeon last Thursday schools will not be reopening for pupils until 11th August 2020 and on a blended model upon return. The CEC authority are currently working hard to provide guidance to schools to support planning for this with a key focus on Health and Safety and Transition. Please bare with us at this time and we will keep you as up to date and informed as we can regards this. If you wish to find out more please visit the government website on https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-framework-decision-making-scotlands-route-map-through-out-crisis/
P7 Hoodies – Session 2020-21
It is that time of year again whereby our current P6’s get to put in their colour choice for their P7 hoodies next session. If you haven’t completed the form already please find the link on your class TEAM. If you don’t have access to the class TEAM please contact us via the school admin email Admin@sighthill.edin.sch.uk
Class TEAMs
We are delighted that all our P1-7 pupils now have access to their class TEAM group. This is where all your weekly home learning activities are based within the class materials folder under file. You can also upload your completed work into your own class notebook where your teacher can mark and provide feedback.
Please remember that a ‘playground chat’ channel has been created for you to talk to your friends leaving the ‘post’ channel free for your class teacher to answer any learning questions and direct you to any new learning or information you need to know. Whilst using the ‘playground chat’ channel stick to the following:
– be kind, caring and supportive. The golden rule with using the Internet is if you wouldn’t say it to their face, do not say it online.
– keep your conversations appropriate. Consider your language and what you’re talking about!
– Do not share personal details such as social media usernames, phone numbers or addresses.
Keep Smiling and Stay Positive!
We have clear pockets and string for any of our pupils to come and place their positive drawing or message onto our school fencing to help make someone smile. You can also get clear pockets and string from the Community Flat. We can’t wait to see what some of you will put up and looking forward to sharing these on Twitter and the school website.
As always we are still here for all our pupils and families so please do not hesitate to get in contact with us. We will continue to support you in anyway that we can.
Take Care! #staysafe #stayhome
