Headteacher Update – Week 7

Good Afternoon Sighthill Families,

I hope you have all enjoyed your long weekend and tried to enjoy some outdoor exercise during the dry spells, lets hope the sun is going to reappear at some point this week!  Here is a wee update from the school:

Microsoft TEAMs

All P1-7 pupils have now been emailed their log-in details to be able to access their home learning activities and chat with their class teacher on their class TEAM group.  If you have not received the log-in email please can you let us know via the school admin email, Admin@sighthill.edin.sch.uk so we can get this to you.

Well-being Phone Calls

All our class teachers have a mobile phone that they are able to carry out Well-being Phone calls to make sure we are supporting our families and pupils in the best way we can.  Class teachers will be starting their fortnightly Well-being calls as of Wednesday 20th May and would love to hear from yourselves and your child.  If there is any support you need, ie IT difficulties, home learning, stationery packs, etc please do not hesitate to let the class teacher know and they will try and support you as best they can.

Keep Smiling and Stay Positive!

As time goes on there have been some suggests of how to ‘Keep Smiling’ and ‘Stay Positive!’  We would therefore like our pupils, if they can, to come and place some of their fabulous drawings on our school fencing at the front of the school.  This could be a portrait of themselves, a positive message to their friends/adults or a lovely rainbow. There will be clear pockets available at the Calders Residence Community Flat as well as on the school fencing for you to place your picture into and some string to attach it.  Each week we will take a wee picture to share the lovely positive messages and images!

P1 Transition

If your child is due to attend Primary One in August with ourselves you should have received information regards the virtual transition ‘We are on a Bear Hunt’ programme that will be taking place this term.  Information is available on our school website https://sighthillps.blog/ for you to access.  Mrs Cochrane will be in touch regards any further updates in due course.

As always we hope you and your family are in good health.  At Sighthill we would just like to say that our families and pupils are always in our hearts and minds during this time.  Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us for any support.

Take Care! #staysafe #stayathome
