Headteacher Update – Week 6

Dear Parent/Carer(s),

I hope you have enjoyed the bank holiday weekend and the sunshine even though it was a little strange to see wee flurries of snow yesterday!  Here is the weekly update from the school.

Microsoft TEAMs – Home Learning

The class teachers have been working hard to set-up their classes with their own TEAMs group.  We have currently launched this with our P3-7 pupils at present.  You all should have had log-in details emailed out to you to set your child(ren) up onto their group and therefore have the opportunity to access their online learning as well as being able to chat with their class teacher.  If you did not receive an email or are having any difficulties in setting up please do email us and Mr Pearce or Miss Addis will be in touch to help and support.

Please remember the activities that the class teachers put up are there as suggested learning activities and to help support learning from home.  Each family will have their own routine and structure for the day which will include other activities or tasks outwith the class teachers suggested ones.  Please do continue to share photos and videos via your child(ren)s Class Notebook or admin email.

Editable Estates

Editable Estates had started to create our very own school farm within the school grounds, but due to school closures this has put an abrupt stop to this.  They have however created how growing learning packs for our P5-6 pupils who were taking part in the school farm.  We hope to deliver these this week.

Keep Smiling and Stay Positive!

As time goes on there have been some suggests of how to ‘Keep Smiling’ and ‘Stay Positive!’  We would therefore like our pupils, if they can, to come and place some of their fabulous drawings on our school fencing at the front of the school.  This could be a portrait of themselves, a positive message to their friends/adults or a lovely rainbow. There will be clear pockets available at the Calders Residence Community Flat for you to place your picture into and some string to attach it to the fencing.  Each week we will take a wee picture to share the lovely positive messages and images!

P1-7 Pupil Progress Reports

Last week you should have received your child(ren)’s Pupil Progress Report via email, if you have not received this can you let the school know via Admin email so we can get this out to you.

Family Support

We would still like to remind our families that we are here for you no matter what and will continue to support in anyway that we can.  Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us via our school admin email, Admin@sighthill.edin.sch.uk.

Take Care! #StaySafe #StayHome
